Inclusion in Physical Education: Dover High School Wellness Program

Dover High School in New Hampshire has developed a novel inclusion program in its physical education curriculum so that students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) do all physical education activities together. This had a transformative effect on all students, beyond the gym into all settings of the school and into the community.

These resources were developed by the National Fitness Foundation and Health Resources in Action through an Inclusive Health Innovation Grant from Special Olympics International, and aim to support physical education teachers nationwide to empower ALL students to be fit for life.
