Policy

Historically, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have been excluded from general health systems, leading to significant health disparities. Inclusive health is a vision for the effective inclusion of people with IDD into general health systems that have been adapted to serve the needs of everyone. Policy change is a key component of effecting sustainable change for the inclusion of people with IDD.
