Medicaid Medicare CHIP Services Dental Association (MSDA) is a 2023-2024 and a 2024-2025 Systems Change in Inclusive Health Subgrant recipient.

MSDA will continue their work to expand Medicaid dental program data systems to include the use of dental codes that document disease and disability. This data will allow state Medicaid dental to better understand health disparities. This year, MSDA will pilot the use of ICD-10 code in three states.

MSDA convened a Learning Collaborative with representatives from 15 state Medicaid Programs and their contracted partners for monthly learning sessions on IDD and how ICD-10 Diagnostic Codes can improve documentation of oral health outcomes and oral health equity. In the 2024-2025 subgrant cycle, MSDA will work with three state programs to pilot the use of ICD-10 Diagnostic Codes.
